LeDeane Studio celebrated eight years of business by giving away prizes. The winners included Shara Latham, Joanne Hall, Sandra Ellis and Mrs. L.L. Roach.

Members of the Nara Visa Garden Club, Mrs. Lester Whitaker and Mrs. R.F. Rock, appealed to the Quay County Commission for caution lights at the railroad crossing.

Quay County extension agents Lea Teague, Lloyd Cavasos, Don Chappell and J. Paul Kemp attended a training school in Clovis at the Farmers Electric Co-op.

City police pursued a stolen car on South Jackson Street. The car’s owner, Joe Trujillo of Tucumcari, reported the stolen car. The thief tried to elude the police by running them off the road and turning off the car’s headlights. The thief eventually ran the car into the irrigation ditch. The suspect was taken to Tucumcari General Hospital for cuts and bruises then was released to police custody and booked for car theft.
