The following is a sample of calls received during the last few days by the central dispatch office for Quay County, based at the Tucumcari Police Department.
Friday
l At 12:25 a.m., an anonymous caller reported a loud verbal argument at an apartment building on west Sunset Avenue.
l At 4:04 p.m., a female on west Sunset Avenue reported that her daughter was getting harassing text messages on her phone. An officer advised her to have the number changed.
l At 9:01 p.m., a female on west Sunset Avenue reported that she had called earlier reporting telephone harassment of her daughter. She had the phone number changed and said that a 15-year-old male who is sending the messages has already gotten her daughter’s number and is sending threatening text messages again.
Saturday
l At 1:29 a.m., several callers reported subjects fighting at a club on Main Street and breaking windows on the building.
l At 9:13 a.m., a female reported a dispute over parking at an apartment complex on south Second Street. An officer advised that both parties would take different routes of coming and going at the apartments.
l At 3:06 p.m., an anonymous caller reported an unwanted subject at a business on south First Street asking people for money. An officer advised that the subject said he had missed his bus and was trying to kill time.
l At 4:25 p.m., an anonymous caller reported an accident with injuries at the intersection of Quay Road R and US Highway 54. The caller said a van was overturned and a mother and children were out of the vehicle. EMS was called and they were transported to the hospital.
Sunday
l At 4:28 p.m. several callers reported an accident with injuries at the intersection of east Tucumcari Boulevard and Mountain Road.
l At 5:10 p.m., a male reported a red 4-wheeler and a Chevy Blazer were racing in the area of Park Street and Whitmore Avenue near the old broom factory. An officer advised that the driver of the 4-wheeler was told to keep the 4-wheeler off of the street.
l At 7:57 p.m., an anonymous caller on east Turner Avenue reported loud noises from his neighbor’s residence. The caller said there was possible drinking and domestic violence involved.
l At 9:31 p.m., a female from an apartment building on Sunset Avenue requested an officer to the residence because of loud music. An officer advised that the subjects were given warning for the second time and the subjects were told if officers had to come back again, someone would be going to jail.
Monday
l At 3:14 p.m., The Quay County Sheriff’s Office received several calls reporting an accident with injuries at mile marker 353 on old Route 66 between 11-Mile Road and San Jon.
l At 3:34 p.m., an attendant at a convenience store on east Tucumcari Boulevard reported a customer had tried to pay for gas with a check that was not good.
l At 7:33 p.m., a female came to the Tucumcari Police Department to report that the door of an empty building on Main Street was open. Officers advised that they found the door open with keys in the lock, the owner was called and the keys were taken to the Tucumcari Police Station.
l At 9:34 p.m., a male reported that his vehicle was almost hit by another vehicle at the intersection of Mountain Road and Route 66 Boulevard. The caller said he had found the other vehicle parked at a restaurant on east Tucumcari Boulevard and requested an officer to come to that location. The caller said he would wait outside the restaurant for the officer to arrive.
