ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Today the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the New Mexico Department of Health and the New Mexico Public Education Department announced that school closures in New Mexico are no longer necessary for health reasons. 

Based upon this information, the NMAA Board of Directors will meet in emergency session on Wednesday morning (May 6) at 8:00 AM to examine situation.

 On Sunday, the NMAA Board of Directors suspended all athletic and activity programs for a minimum of seven days in order to ensure fairness for NMAA member schools who could not participate in activities this week due to closure.

 The NMAA will issue a press release tomorrow morning following the Board of Director’s meeting.
