The Conchas Cavaliers, a local orchestra, played on Saturday nights at The Cactus Club on Hwy 66 east of town. … Charles L. Baker, of Tucumcari, was arrested in Trinidad, Colo., and taken to Denver, Colo., by Secret Service Chief Roland K. Goddard. Baker was held for passing counterfeit $20 bills. Fred White, Quay County Sheriff, played a prominent part in the investigation and arrest of Baker. … Mary Randall played the lead in “Glow Lights,” the junior class play.
