Sheriff Hubert Beasley and others left in search of a Tucumcari-Clovis bus reported lost in a heavy snowstorm. Drifts two and three feet deep were encountered before the bus was found four miles this side of Wheatland. Passengers had sought shelter in a nearby farm house. … Neumon Parker, county school superintendent, caught in the same storm, was forced to spend the night in his automobile when it stalled in a drift 2 1/2 miles south of Ragland.
