Services: Private services scheduled. Bobby Eugene McAda, 75, formerly of Tucumcari, died Monday, Aug. 27, 2007, in Niceville, Fla. Mr. McAda was born in 1932 in Floydada, Texas, to Grady and Bernice McAda. He was a graduate of Tucumcari High School and operated Gulf Gas Stations on Route 66 in the 1960s and 1970s. He moved to Florida in 1985 to work with his son, who owned radio stations across the country. Between 1986 and 1993 he was “Pops the Old Geezer” in a morning show with his son on WZEP Radio Station in Defuniak Springs, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include a son, Scott (wife Belinda) McAda; a sister, Shirley (Dave) Scott of Roswell; a brother, Jimmy McAda, of Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Wesley McAda and William McAda and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial donations may be made to the Meals on Wheels program of Okaloosa County Florida.
