Ruben B. Romero

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday graveside memorial services will be at the Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Ruben B. Romero, 58, died Thursday, July 19, 2007, at Trigg Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. Mr. Romero was born Jan. 21, 1949 in Meade, Kan. He was an Army Veteran and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He also a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, The St. and Joseph's Society. He was a long time Tucumcari resident, who attended Tucumcari schools. Mr. Romero owned and operated his own windmill business. Surviving Mr. Romero are his wife, Antonia of Tucumcari, his mother Rita Hermosillo of Roswell, four sons: Jacob Romero and Bronc Romero of Albuquerque, Gary (Gloria) Sandoval of San Marcos, Texas, and Chris (Juana) Sandoval of Tucumcari. He is also survived by his sisters Billie (Benny) Maestas, Lisa (Bill) Capp, both of Roswell, and Cristy Hermosillo and companion Ray of Albuquerque, eight grandchildren and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father Bonifacio Romero and his brother Everette Romero. Following Mr. Romero's wishes he was cremated. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home.
