Frances Kaufman Leiding

Services: Have been held. Frances Kaufman Leiding, 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1966, died Monday, June 25, 2007. She is survived by her husband, Wally; son, Craig and wife, Joanne, of Arlington, Va.; daughter, Laura and John of Parker, Colo.; granddaughter, Heather of Denton,Texas; sister, Jenny of Sun City, Ariz.; niece, Pam of Sun City ; and nephew, Kenny of Albuquerque. Min Kantrowitz presided at a service on Wednesday. Mrs. Leiding was born Aug. 28, 1921 in Tucumcari to Emil and Martha Kaufman. Mrs. Leiding was actively involved with the League of Women Voters, volunteered with the Lovelace Women’s Auxiliary and ushered at Popejoy Hall at the University of New Mexico for many years. Mrs. Leiding earned her Bachelor’s degree with a major in History and minor in English from UNM in 1983. She traveled extensively throughout the world, loved to golf, and was a skilled bridge player, her family said.
