Accident claims lives of three Logan men

An accident near Endee early Saturday morning claimed the lives of three men from Logan.

Killed in the single-vehicle accident were Trent Barber, 26, Trever Mitchell, 23, and Travis Roberts, 24, New Mexico State Police Sgt. Andy Tingwall said.

"The three men were found deceased at the scene," Tingwall said.

"Alcohol cans were found open and unopened around the scene of the accident, which is still under investigation," Tingwall said.

The three men were in a 2000 Chevy pickup, which was traveling east on Route 66 when it swerved off of the north edge of the road and went into a broadside slide, Tingwall said.

The pickup hit a tree on the side of the road and uprooted the tree, Tingwall said.

The accident was reported at 7 a.m.
