Ticket feature: Texico, Farwell getting ready for Border Town Days
Comments 0Farwell and Texico are celebrating the 44th annual Border Town Days Saturday.
Border Town Days is an event shared between the two communities which border the New Mexico/Texas state line.
The annual celebration began as a spin-off from a rodeo event in Bovina and has become a small-town social gathering.
Musicians, a parade, food, games for children and other activities are all part of the day-long event.
The parade and entertainment begin at 11 a.m. along Griffin Street in Texico and ending in the Farwell City Park.
Among attractions this year will be country music played by Lubbock native Mike Siler and up-and-coming musician Brice Howard, a Texas Tech junior.
And there will be activities such as rock climbing, pony rides, train rides, carnival rides and face painting.
Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets to the park to make their seating more comfortable.
