Boys celebrate birthdays

Three Tucumcari youngsters celebrated birthdays recently.

Ethan Joseph Hendren turned 4 on July 11.

He is the son of Anthony and Cynthia Hendren and the grandson of Dennis and Ruby Hendren and Fred and Mary Romero. His big brother is Ruben.

Ethan celebrated his birthday with family and friends at the public swimming pool on July 12. He likes to play baseball, fish and ride bikes.

Jacob Alires has celebrated his first birthday.

He was born on July 21.

Jesse M.D. Lewis celebrated his second birthday on July 17.

He is the son of Richard and Jennifer Lewis of Tucumcari. He has two brothers — Christopher and Richard.

 

Bowe, Thrasher exchange vows

Nicole Joanne Bowe and Leo Patrick Thrasher were married on June 27 in Denver.

Nicole is the daughter of Roger and Debby Kampschmidt Bowe; Patrick is the son of Leo and Sharon Thrasher, all of San Jon.

Grandparents include the late Ray Kampschmidt and Jo Kaiiipschnildt of Shelbina, Mo., C.L. and Wanda Bowe of San Jon and the late George Ireland and Virginia Ireland of St. Louis.

The couple resides in Denver.

 

Tucumcari man reports to Conchas Dam

Department of the Army civilian Ralph E. Arias has arrived for duty with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Conchas Dam, according to an Army news release.

Arias is the son of Joseph and Luicita Arias of Tucumcari. His wife, Cecilia, is the daughter of Juanita Garcia of Tucumcari, the release said.

 

Honoring nine decades

State Rep. Dennis Roch, R-Tucumcari, presented Nara Visa’s Travis Nelson with a proclamation from the state House of Representatives on Sunday at Nara Visa Community Center Gym. The proclamation honored Nelson, left, who celebrated her 90th birthday, for her years of hard work, dedication and commitment to the improvement of Quay County.
