CONCHAS DAM, N.M. – New Mexico State Parks invites the public to review and comment on the draft park
management plan for Conchas Lake State Park. The plan includes a history of the park, a review of existing
park resources and facilities, and proposed management and facility improvements for the next five years.
The deadline for public comments is April 2.
The public is invited to a public meeting to review the plan at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 13 at the North
Dock Marina at Conchas Lake State Park.
The draft plan proposes a variety of improvements to park facilities, including improvements to park roads,
signage, the visitor center, new water treatment system, staff housing, comfort stations and boat ramps. The
draft plan also addresses the future of the trailer park operated by the concessionaire.
Each state park is required to have a park management plan that is updated every five years. The objective is
to provide direction for the management and development of the park in order to protect park resources and
enhance recreational opportunities.
Copies of the plan are available for review at the Conchas Lake State Park visitor center, the State Parks
Division regional office at 612 E. Main in Tucumcari, or at www.nmparks.com.
Written and oral comments on the plan will be accepted through April 2. Comment letters can be dropped off
at the park; mailed to: P.O. Box 1147, Santa Fe, NM 87505; faxed to 505-476-3361; or submitted by email to:
