County approves fire department equipment

Quay County commissioners have approved $1.2 million in equipment for county fire departments.

Fire Marshal Donald Adams presented the bids and request to commissioners on Friday.

Here’s a breakdown of the money:

• Storage tank for Rural II: $122,000

• Tanker for Forrest: $184,000

• Class A Pumpers, Bard-Endee, Jordan and Nara Visa: $220,000

• Building additions to Forrest: $85,000

• Construction of Quay County fire marshal building: $200,000

Commissioners also:

• Approved Quay County Health Profile & Plan.

• Approved Closure of Quay Road 40.

• Approved a contract with Rural Bookmobile for library services.
