Pancake breakfast in , Training to serve alochol, NWS spotter training in House, Wheatland Reunion

Legion to hold flea market, bake sale and pancake breakfast Saturday
The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 77 is having a flea market, bake Sale and a pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.on Saturday  in the American Legion Bingo Hall in Logan.
 
Training on regs to serve alcohol
The Quay County ASAP Coalition Steering Committee will have a training on the laws and regulations regarding the serving of alcohol.
The training is in conjunction with its  monthly meeting on May 13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Pow Wow Restaurant.
All interested person(s) are invited to attend. There is no cost to attend the training session.

Tips to lower your cholesterol  
If your cholesterol levels are too high it could lead to heart disease. However, there are some things you can do to improve your heart health. Learn about cholesterol and how to improve your numbers at one of the following workshops:
l May 13 at 10:30 a.m. – Tucumcari Senior Citizen Center
l May 20 at noon – San Jon Senior Citizen Center
The program is free and open to anyone interested. It is sponsored by the Quay County Cooperative Extension Service. To receive a handout or to get more information call the extension office at 461-0562.

NWS spotter training set for House
The National Weather Service in Albuquerque is recruiting SKYWARN Spotters in Quay and surrounding counties.
The SKYWARN program trains members of the general public to recognize and report severe weather to the NWS. Visual detection and confirmation of severe weather by  spotters, in conjunction with advanced technology such as Doppler Radar, plays a key role in the process of warning the general public about impending severe weather.
A  training class has been scheduled at the House Public School in House  at 2 p.m. on May 20.  Anyone wishing to become a  spotter can fulfill their training requirement by attending this class. For more information acall Ken Drozd 1-888-386-7637.

Wheatland reunion set for May 28
The Wheatland School Reunion will be at 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on May 28 at the Grady Senior Citizens Building in Grady.  For lunch bring a covered dish. Donations will be taken to cover the  building rental.
