QUAY COUNTY CLERK’S OFFICE
In an effort to keep the residents of Quay County informed, please make note of some important voter registration deadlines and election information.
The City of Tucumcari, Villages of San Jon, Logan and House will be having municipal elections on March 2, 2010. Candidate filing day for residents interested in running for open positions on those boards is Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in each of the municipality offices. For more information, please contact your City & Village Clerks. Citizens wishing to vote in this election must be a resident of the municipality and reside within the respective district where required. The deadline to register to vote is Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010 at 5 p.m.
Due to single member city commission districts in Tucumcari, it is very important that all voters are registered where they currently reside as the precinct board can challenge a voter. Persons who have moved and never changed their voter registration to the current address should do so immediately.
Primary and general elections will be held in 2010 in New Mexico. Governor Richardson will issue the proclamation calling for the primary election on Jan. 25, 2010. All interested candidates wishing to vie for office must have their voter registration in proper order prior to the Proclamation being issued. For more information, and a list of available positions, please contact your County Clerk at 575-461-0510.
The following is a list of locations where registration forms may be obtained in order to register to vote or make the necessary changes to your voter registration affidavit.
