Fireworks banned in Quay County
Comments 0Quay County is under fire restrictions that include open burning, campfires and fireworks, according to an announcement by the Quay County Fire Marshal Donald Adams.
"Please note that fireworks are banned from the county," said Adams in the release.
The restrictions apply to non-municipal, non-federal and non-tribal lands, the release said.
The restrictions were announced for 27 counties in the state and prompted by the lack of moisture, high wind and hot temperatures, the release stated.
The mandate was made by the state's Forestry Department and Gov. Bill Richardson's office, the release said.
