Fatal crash kills one Oklahoma man in Quay County

Comments 0

Nara Visa—Kevin Butler of Jennings, Oklahoma, has died in a crash near Nara Visa late Thursday.  He was attempting to pass a semi-truck, crossing the double yellow lines of a no passing zone, on US 54 when he sideswiped an oncoming semi.

Butler (8/7/67) was driving a Chevy Blazer east when he tried to pass an eastbound truck at about 11:15 pm.  He sideswiped a second semi that was traveling westbound.  Butler’s Blazer rolled several times throwing him from the SUV.

He was transported to Trigg Hospital in Tucumcari, where he was pronounced deceased.  Butler was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.  Alcohol does not seem to be a factor in this wreck.
