A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 10 p.m. Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

Hail up to 1/2 inch in diameter and wind gusts up to 55 mph are expected with this storm along with heavy rain, according to a National Weather Service release.

Counties affected include Chaves, Curry, De Baca, Eddy, Guadalupe, Harding, Lea, Quay, Roosevelt, San Miguel and Union, according to the release.
