Sheriff's office charges Clovis man for sex offender violation

The Curry County Sheriff’s Office have charged a registered sex offender with absconding.

Daniel Gutierrez Martinez, 56, was last living at 1300 Thornton St., but moved without notifying the sheriff’s office as required by the courts.

According to a press release, Martinez’ has been missing since Jan. 27.

His sex offender status stems from a 1998 sexual assault conviction in Potter County, Texas.

Martinez is described as 5-foot-3, about 145 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes. He has a star tattoo on his left wrist, a parrot and scorpion tattooed on his left forearm, “Seberina” on his left shoulder and a gypsy girl and “Cartoon” tattoo on his right hand.
