A high-speed chase ended Wednesday after a Hartley County Sheriff's Deputy shot out the front tires on a pickup driven by a man who fled from Quay County Sheriff's deputies.

Hartley County and Texas Department of Public Saftey units stopped Bond's vehicle on New Mexico Highway 402 in Union County, north of Quay County.

At 12:52 p.m., Texas DPS said they had arrested Kyle Martin Bond, 24, of Jefferson City, Mo., said Quay County Sheriff Joe Schallert.

Schallert said that Deputy Bill Anderson and Logan Chief of Police Bob Gore tried to serve felony warrants on Bond while he was working a gravel-pit crusher on the Shoenail Ranch east of Logan.

"Deputy Anderson noticed a vehicle leave from the crusher in a hurry and knew that was Bond," Schallert said.

The chase crossed state lines and lasted  more than an hour, police said. Five Hartley County Sheriff's cars and four Texas DPS cars advised

New Mexico police units they were pursuing Bond on U.S. 54 in Hartley County, Texas.

Bond turned onto a county road and was headed north towards  Amistad in excess of 95 miles per hour, police said.

The chase began at 11:30 a.m. when Anderson called in that he was pursing Bond's maroon pickup on U.S. Highway 54.

Schallert said they were searching for Bond after they lost site of his vehicle while it was traveling on county roads between Logan and Nara Visa.

Anderson advised dispatch to notify Texas law enforcement as they approached the Texas state line.

Bond is wanted for three outstanding felony warrants out of Missouri. He is charged in Missouri with probation violations with the original charges of aggravated assault, possession of controlled substance and stealing.

Gore was contacted by a Missouri law enforcement and told that Bond may be living and working in Logan.

Schallert said Gore contacted the Sheriff's Department to help serve the warrants.

"Bond will be held in the Union County Detention Center to await extradition back to Missouri," Schallert said. "We will speak with our district attorney about filing charges on Bond for evading arrest."
