03-04-09: Police Blotter

The following is a sample of calls received during the last few days by the central dispatch office for Quay County, based at the Tucumcari Police Department.

Friday
l At 8:32 a.m., a male reported vandalism to a white van on east High Street. The rear passenger window had been broken.
l At 1:31 p.m., a female requested an officer to her residence on north Second Street in reference to a possible burglary. The caller reported that the door handle of the residence had been removed and she couldn’t get into the house.
l At 4:39 p.m., a male reported that a dog had attacked his wife on south Third Street and the caller requested an officer to the residence.
l At 4:13 p.m., a female reported a domestic violence incident at a residence on south Seventh Street. The caller said a male subject had beaten her and run away.
l At 6:04 p.m., a female reported that she had driven by a fender bender involving a truck and a car at the intersection of south First Street and Tucumcari Boulevard.
l At 9:22 p.m., a male reported domestic violence in progress at an apartment on east Main Street, and requested an officer to the apartment. The caller said the kids had come to his apartment and told him their dad was beating their mom.
l At 10:41 p.m., a female reported a grass fire in the field across from her residence on Quay Road AE. Unit 3 of the Rural Fire Department responded.

Saturday
l At 1:11 a.m., an anonymous caller requested a walk through at a business on west Tucumcari Boulevard in reference to a possible fight about to happen.
l At 7:26 a.m., a female reported a possible burglary her sister’s residence on east High Street. The caller said that her sister was out of town and the door to her house was open.
l At 10:38 a.m., a female reported that the license plate on her car had been stolen.
l At 11:47 a.m., a male requested assistance from an officer in the repossession of a car on south Third Street because the subjects with the vehicle were giving them difficulties.
l At 3:11 p.m., a male reported an accident with no injuries at south Third Street and Tucumcari Boulevard.
l At 3:38 p.m., an anonymous caller reported to the Harding County Sheriff’s office that there was an intoxicated subject at a basketball game in Mosquero.
l At 8:14 p.m., a male requested an officer to his residence on south Eighth Street. The caller reported that while he and a friend were riding their bicycles, they were assaulted by two older male subjects in a white older model Chevy pickup.
l At 6:28 p.m., an anonymous caller reported to the Logan Police Department that a yellow PT Cruiser had hit a deer on the 540 Loop at mile marker 1.

Sunday
l At 3:50 a.m., several callers reported a rock slide on Interstate 40 at mile marker 329. The callers said big rocks were all over the highway.
l At 1:36 p.m., a female reported that she had hit a building with her car at a business on east Estrella Avenue.
l At 1:43 p.m., an anonymous caller reported an accident with injuries on south Second Street. The caller said a male subject had run into a tree and was not responding.
l At 3:15 p.m., an anonymous caller reported an accident without injuries at a business on east Tucumcari Boulevard. The caller said a female subject had hit a pole by a gas pump.
l At 6:17 p.m., a male reported that he was being harassed by another truck driver at a truck stop on Mountain Road.
l At 7:11 p.m., a female reported that two vehicles had run over a rock at a business on east Tucumcari Boulevard and were stuck. An officer checked the site and advised that the vehicles were gone and there was no damage done.

Monday
l At 8:18 a.m., a female reported that a building on east Hancock Avenue had been vandalized with graffiti during the night.
l At 1:20 p.m., a male requested an office to his residence in reference to someone possibly stealing his bank card.
l At 8:50 p.m., a male reported that juveniles in the back seat of a black SUV were throwing eggs at vehicles on Mountain Road.
l At 6:20 p.m., a caller reported to the Logan Police Department that while he was traveling south on Highway 54, he had hit a deer about 5 miles before reaching Logan.
