Rattlers to face Cardinals
Comments 0Records: Eunice 2-3, Tucumcari 2-3
Where: Rattler Stadium
When: 7 p.m. Friday
Last week: Eunice lost to Wink High School 46-7.
Tucumcari beat Loving High School 41-8
What 2 watch 4: "Eunice is an aggressive team, they move quickly and I look for them to bring it on hard. We respect Eunice, they can run the ball and are not afraid of tough competition. They run a wing-T offense and sweep and run in strong sets, said Rattlers head football coach Daniel Hutchins.
Eunice head football coach Kelly Bonner said, "(The Rattlers) are big and getting better every week. They do a good job of moving the ball and have a good running and passing game."
Momentum off of last week's win:
The Rattlers were excited about their 41-8 win against Loving last week. "We worked on our short passing game during the Loving game and gave some of our younger players a chance to play. We played our game and were able to run the clock," Hutchins said. Junior running back Lucas Benavidez was injured in the last game. At Monday's practice, Benividez said he is not in pain and expects to play in Friday night's game. On offense, Hutchins said, "I'm happy at how we are running the ball. We have several receivers and they are able to score from anywhere. Our quarterback is getting the ball there, and Adrian Prieto (wide receiver) is becoming a team leader, he tackles, calls and sees things and Lucas Benividez is one of the best runningbacks in the state. On Friday we will try to play our game and be the Tucumcari Rattlers."
