11-11 Fishing report

The fishing report from New Mexico Wildlife Department is generated by officers and anglers.

 

Area lake reports:

 

Conchas Lake: Fishing pressure was very light but a few walleye and white bass were taken by anglers using jigging spoons, minnows and crank baits. We had no reports on other species.

Ute Lake: Fishing was good using slab spoons and blade baits at 30-to-40 feet and minnows on lindy rigs in 26-to-56 feet of water for walleye and white bass. Fishing was fair-to-good using cut bait and dough bait for catfish. Fishing for largemouth bass and smallmouth bass was slow.

Clayton Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Oasis Park Pond: Fishing was slow-to-fair using power bait for trout.

Santa Rosa: Fishing was fair using chigger craws, tubes and crank baits for a mix of smallmouth and largemouth bass. Fishing for all other species was slow.

Sumner Lake: Fishing was fair using minnows and red curly tail grubs for 13-to-17-inch walleye. Fishing was slow-to-fair using spinner baits for bass. We had no reports on other species.

Bosque Redondo: Trout fishing was slow-to-fair using flies under a bubble and salmon eggs.

 

Catches of the week

Ute Lake: Saturday, Bobbie Jo Goodson, age 10, of Dalhart, Texas, caught and released a 3.10-pound smallmouth bass. She was using a slab spoon.
