Health center gets improvement award

Presbyterian Medical Services’ Quay County Family Health Center in Tucumcari was awarded the Exemplary Improvement Award for excellence in clinical quality and patient care.

Since 2004, the HealthInsight Quality Award Program has recognized nursing homes, hospitals, home health agencies and outpatient medical practices and clinics in Utah and Nevada.

This year, HealthInsight New Mexico and the New Mexico Medical Society partnered to launch the inaugural outpatient medical practice awards program.

The awards were presented on Oct. 24 during the HealthInsight Annual Quality Conference in Albuquerque.

The Quay County Family Health Center, located at 1302 East Main Street, received the Exemplary Improvement Award. The award recognizes primary care or pediatric practices demonstrating a 15-percent absolute improvement on three quality measures for two consecutive time periods during the last two years.

“We are extremely proud of these clinical practices for their outstanding contributions to the patients they serve,” said Margy Wienbar, executive director of HealthInsight New Mexico. “Excellent primary care is the foundation for quality health care, and HealthInsight is happy to recognize these leaders, clinicians and their staffs for this achievement.”
