Girl Scouts collect newspapers

The Tucumcari Girl Scouts will be holding a newspaper drive Saturday, Sept. 4 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mesalands Community College on 11th Street. Representatives of the Girl Scouts said they encourage anyone with old newspapers to drop them off so they can be recycled.

Penalties doom Mesalands in season’s first rodeo

QCS Reports A field of more than 500 contestants from the region competed at the fall intercollegiate rodeo opener in Portales last weekend.
