    Interstate Automotive plans to close its dealership in Tucumcari, employees said this morning. The service department finished the projects it was working on and left on Monday, said Joey Haas, a sales associate. Haas said the notice of closure from corporate representatives came last week, though there has been no official closing date set.   • Local elected game commission chair

    The New Mexico State Game Commission elect recently appointed Scott Bidegain of Tucumcari as chairman. Bidegain, 33, was selected to serve as the chairman during the March 21 meeting in Albuquerque. Bidegain succeeds Jim McClintic, who died Feb. 15 after a battle with cancer. The state game commission is composed of seven members who represent the state's diverse interests in wildlife-associated recreation and conservation.     Tucumcari will be the site of a new business with Kodiak Fresh Produce set to open in mid-April, soon, Site Manager John Perry said Monday. Perry, who is from Logan, said their goal is to be the biggest employer in Quay County. He said that they will start with about 25 employees and plan to hire more in the future.     Coyotes trapped by U.S. Department of Agriculture's Wildlife Services outside Tucumcari have tested positive for contagious-strain mange. During a meeting of the Quay County Commission Monday, Ron Jones, USDA wildlife specialist, said two of 12 coyotes trapped in the past three weeks have tested positive for red mange. Jones said the coyotes have moved closer to Tucumcari and residents have reported them killing cats and trying to get into yards after small dogs.   • Terry Turner building could reopen next week

    The Terry Turner building, home to the Quay County Extension Office, could be reopening next week. On Jan. 7, fire in the building damaged a small room and the back of the facility. A restoration crew cleaned up smoke and water damage, replacing ceiling tiles and carpet and painted the walls. County Manager Richard Primrose said he was pleased with the good work by the crew.     Quay County Commissioners on Tuesday unanimously approved a grievance board decision regarding termination of a Quay County Detention Center employee. Barbara Jimenez was terminated in October 2012, accused of giving the wrong medication to an inmate a fourth time. The grievance board made the right decision by terminating Jimenez, said County Manager Richard Primrose.
