  • Important to appreciate the little things

    Debra Whittington CMI columnist|Oct 9, 2012

"For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past ..." Psalm 90:4 I love the crisp mornings and warm afternoons of the fall season of the year. It is time for football and falling leaves, pumpkin pies, and comfort foods. It is also a signal the year is winding down and will soon be only a memory. It is the season to prepare the garden and the home for the cold winter months ahead. This is where my problem begins. I am no longer able to accomplish all of these tasks by myself. Gone are the days when I would spend hours...

    Clovis News Journal|Oct 9, 2012

Several times a year there are news weeks like this past one. They are filled with multiple news events of a magnitude that few people associate with this sparsely populated area of New Mexico. Edward Salas was the last of eight prisoners to be recaptured from a mass breakout from Curry County's jail in August 2008. When returned to New Mexico in the...

They lived across the street from the courthouse, and his sister, Ida Ann, became a close friend as we played in those halls when we were just beginning school. Roy and Clough became good friends and remained so as long as...
