Elks Lodge hosts student banquet

At a special ceremony held at the Tucumcari Elks Lodge #1172 on May 19, all Students of the Month were honored and recognized for their outstanding achievements during this past school year.

Ms. Natalie Nieto, a senior at Tucumcari High School, was selected as Student of the Year. Ms. Nieto has a GPA of 4.12. She is the daughter of Jovita Laredo. She has been active in student council and National Honor Society. Natalie will be attending the University of New Mexico and major in medicine to become a doctor. The Tucumcari Elks Lodge congratulates Natalie for her outstanding achievements and wishes her success in all her future endeavors.

All Students of the Month were recognized for their fine achievements and were given a big round of applause. Students, parents and school administrators were treated to hamburgers. The event was well attended and proved to be very successful and all present had a good, fun time.
