A Tucumcari man has been charged with one count of criminal sexual penetration of a child under 13.
Chris Quintana, 61, surrendered to New Mexico State Police on Feb. 24 at the Quay County Magistrate Court.
A warrant was issued for Quintana's arrest by Tenth Judicial District Judge Albert J. Mitchell Jr., based on information from an affidavit filed by New Mexico State Police Officer Marcus Lopez.
The incident is alleged to have occurred on Jan. 22 in Quay County, according to the affidavit.
Quintana was released on Feb. 24 on a $100,000 appearance bond.
Attempts to contact Quintana were unsuccessful.
