VFW hosting benefit dinner
The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2528 Auxiliary will have a benefit barbecue dinner 5:30 p.m. Friday at the post, located at 105 E. Main. The meal, priced at $5 per plate, includes ribs, potato salad, beans, rolls and a dessert.

Van to make Tucumcari stop
The Van of Enchantment will be stopping at the Tucumcari Historical Museum on May 12 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., There will be a breakfast of biscuits and gravy, and a lunch of beans and cornbread. There will also be live music by Rick Haymaker.
State officialto herald award
Cabinet Secretary John Berala of the Economic Development Deptartment will announce a MainStreet capital outlay award for the city train depot 3 p.m. on Friday at the Tucumcari Train Depot.
Fair board to meet
The Quay County Fair Board will meet 7 p.m. Monday for its regular meeting during which the board will be voting on updated by-laws. This is an open meeting which will be held at the Extension Office in the Terry Turner Building at 216 E Center Street.
