Mesalands womens team ranked third, men 16th at College National Finals Rodeo

The Mesalands Community College Rodeo Team is competing at the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR) this week in Casper, Wyo. Here is an update on their performance as of Thursday:

The Women's Team is currently in third place with 230.0 points and the Men's Team is currently in 16th place with 140.0 points.

Tie Down Roping: Jordan Minor had a time of 9.6 seconds in the third go-round and is currently in 15th place. Kit Pettigrew had a time of 16.7 seconds for the first go-round, 19.0 seconds for the second go-round, and is waiting for his turn in the third go-round.

Steer Wrestling: Chase Massengill is currently in fifth place with a time of 5.0 seconds in the third go-round. Hayden Moore is currently in 15th place after the third go-round.

Team Roping: Teammates Daniel Munoz-Baeza and Macy Fuller had a no score for the first three go- rounds.

Barrel Racing: Shelby Rita had a time of 14.68 seconds for the first go-round and 14.36 seconds for the second go-round. She is waiting her turn for the third go-round.

Breakaway Roping: Bailey Bates is currently in fourth place with a time of 3.0 seconds in the third go-round with 130 points. Macy Fuller is currently in 17th place after the third go-round.

Goat Tying: Macy Fuller is currently in fourth place with a time of 6.7 seconds after the third go-round.

Saddle Bronc Riding: Fran Marchand had a score of 68.5 in the first go-round and 66.5 for the second-go round. Christian Stremler had a score of 60.5 for the first go-round and 57.5 in the second go-round.

Bareback Riding: Marchand received a no score for the first go-round and a 62.5 for the second go-round.

Bull Riding: Marchand is currently in 26th place after the first two go-rounds.

Thursday marks the end of the third go-round performances with Friday being the fourth performances. The championship round and presentation of awards will held on Saturday.
