The live music was well received and a welcomed change from the disc jockey style music played in the past, said T.J.. Smith, chamber president.

Smith said the crowd was extremely positive to have live music, they enjoyed songs from the opening act, Kene Terry and the Bourbon Cowboys, and the main attraction, Logan Taylor and the Thunderbirds.

The street dance was a co-sponsored event between the chamber and the Logan Roping Club. Smith said traditionally the club held the dance at the roping arena, though this year the coordinators felt a change of venue would benefit the dance. He said $2,750 was raised from wrist band sales which will cover the cost of the event, paying the bands and the remainder will go to the club.

Smith said the success and positive feed back from the residents has the chamber considering sponsoring a similar event again. He said there has even been some talk of possibly putting on a music festival, though nothing has gone beyond the discussion phase.

The chamber also held its annual drawing with Vicky Smith of Melrose winning the top prize. She chose $10,000 over a selection of recreational vehicles provided by sponsoring organizations.
