The parishioners of Saint Anne's Catholic Church are preparing for their annual fiesta, celebrating 102 years of service in Tucumcari.
The fiesta begins with a reception at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Tucumcari Historical Museum's annex building, Clara Rey, Saint youth coordinator.
Rey said display has been set up at the museum containing historical documents and relics from the church's past.
A Novena, a series of prayers said over the course of nine days to ask for grace, dedicated to Saint Anne, will begin after the 7 a.m., mass on July 18.
Rey said the Novena will be held each weekday, and will conclude at 5: 30 p.m. July 26 at the start of the Opening Mass. She said the royalty court which consists of a queen, prince and princess, will be crowned during the mass.
Rey said the court is selected by their knowledge of Saint Anne and their Catholic faith, as well as by their involvement in several community service projects.
The court will represent the church's youth throughout the year at various functions.
The fiesta's Reverse Draw/ Board Auction and Dinner will be held at 6 p.m. July 27, at the Tucumcari Convention Center, said Lorinda Martinez-Garcia, co-chair of the reverse draw and auction board committee.
Martinez-Garcia said the events will conclude on July 28 starting with the 4 p.m., Saturday Vigil Mass and a street dance and game night starting at 5 p.m.,-10 p.m., at the church school yard and Hammond Hall.
