Three local youths will compete in a country music singing competition Saturday in Tucumcari.
The KTNM radio station will hold the Texaco Country Showdown at 8 p.m. at the Pow Wow Lizard Lounge, said Charlie Morrison, general manager, KTNM KQAY radio stations in Tucumcari.
Morrison said three local singers, Feliciana Marie Lovato, Olana Romero and Anastasia Schmitt, all of Tucumcari, have signed up for the competition. He said Teagen Stewart of Albuquerque has also signed up for the competition.
Morrison said showdown will consist of country music songs performed by the contestants, and the winner will go on to compete in the state competition for a chance to compete in Nashville, Tenn.
