Hearing postponed for teen in slayings

The preliminary hearing for Tony Day, 14, who is accused of killing his adoptive mother and stepsister on Nov. 26, has been postponed until 9 a.m. Dec. 28, according to Suzy Chavarria, court monitor for the Tenth Judicial District Court in Tucumcari.

Day is facing charges in connection to the deaths of his mother, Sue Day, 67, and her daughter Sherry Folts, 49, at the family home on Quay Road 63.

The preliminary hearing was originally set for Friday.
