Student of the month - March 27

Benjamin Aragon, 15, and Genesis Rodriguez, 17, are the students of the month at Tucumcari High School.

Aragon is the son of Ramon Aragon and is sophomore. He has been active in track and has a grade average of 3.50 and up. Aragon is in pre-ap geometry and pre-ap English I. Aragon wants to obtain an art degree and do concept design for Micosoft.

Rodriguez is the daughter of James and Norma Rodriguez and is a junior. She has a grade average of 4.0 and is on the A and B honor roll and the A honor roll.

Rodriguez wants to study criminal justice at West Texas A and M in Canyon, Texas and become a professional detective .

The Student of the Month program is sponsored by the Tucumcari Elks Lodge #1172 to bring recognize outstanding youth in the Quay County area. Multiple achievements, citizenship, scholarship and leadership are the bases for selection.

Students are nominated monthly by classmates and teachers in their schools and then screened by a school committee for selection as the student of the month.
