Quay County Commissioners met Monday and conducted the following business:
- Bryan Rhinestine, DWI probation officer said for the first quarter of the year there were nine DWI arrests, three accidents and one fatality. There were 10 cases completed and 13 DWI probation successes.
- Dr. Randall Brown and Linda Simms of the Quay County Medical Clinic said there had been a lot of doctors leaving during the past months and wanted to let the commissioners know that they were here to serve the community in any way that they could. Brown doctors that are rotating between Tucumcari and Santa Rosa working through his office.
- Desmond Griggs, member of the Quay County Fair Board, recommended allowing a group to hold a mud bogging event sometime in June as a fundraiser for the fair. Griggs said that the carnival has been booked again for the fair this year and that the fair board wanted to have lights put up on the east side of the fair barn.
- Donald Adams, fire marshal, said an inspection on the Bard-Endee fire station was done on Thursday and that signs was needed for the doors of the fire stations in the county.
- T. J. Rich, detention center administrator, said $20,700 revenue was generated from housing juveniles at the center.
- Janie Hoffman, county assessor, said county assessments were mailed on April 1 and that $6 million was added to properties in the county.
- Larry Moore, roads superintendent, said work on the Bugg Ranch Road was almost complete and that the owner had donated roads material to the county for use in other projects.
- Richard Primrose, county manager, said that the DWI quarterly report was up $73,750 this year from fees collected and from probation costs. Primrose said that the audit contract was approved and renewed. Commissioners set April 16 at 9 a.m. for a budget work session.
