The Tucumcari/Quay County Chamber of Commerce held an Old Time Barn Dance and Barbeque Dinner as its annual banquet and fundraiser Friday evening.
The event drew about 250 persons. Those who attended paid $35 for a dinner and dance and enjoyed events and socializing, as well as prizes.
Guests had the opportunity to bid on items in a silent auction, and door prizes were awarded to ticket holders whose names were drawn out of a basket.
The grand prize, a Samsung Galaxy tablet computer, was awarded to Dr. Jean Corey in a drawing. Participants also turned out to dance to the country music of the Will Banister band from Clovis.
Guests enjoyed a dinner of barbecue specialties that included sausage, ribs and brisket slices, accompanied by baked beans, corn on the cob, slaw and a dessert of pecan squares. Del’s Restaurant catered the event.
