Fireworks limits do not apply to firecrackers

The Tucumcari City Commission's proclamation to limit sales of some kinds of fireworks for this Fourth of July was not meant to affect firecrackers, Mayor Robert Lumpkin said Thursday.

An incorrect version of the proclamation that did include a ban on firecrackers--"ground audibles" in the language of the proclamation--was inadvertently circulated with meeting agendas, Lumpkin said.

Firecrackers can be sold and used in the city, Lumpkin said.
