Agricultural lease renewal workshop set for Wednesday

An agriculture lease renewal workshop is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Natural Resource Conservation Service office, 706 S. First St., Tucumcari, according to Danny Sandoval, management analyst for lease renewals for the state land office.

Questions concerning the 2014 agriculture lease renewal application documents will be addressed by staff from the state land office’s Surface Resources Division. A notary public will be available on site for those needing a notarized renewal application, Sandoval said.

Every five years agriculture lease are subject to renewal.

State Land Commissioner Ray Powell said agricultural lessees generate revenue for schools, universities and hospitals throughout the state.”
