Speakers, parades and special events will mark the annual Rattler Reunion, which begins Thursday evening with registration at the Tucumcari Convention Center, 1500 W. Historic Route 66 Blvd., Tucumcari.
Lucy Nials, a member of the Tucumcari High School Class of 1984, which is in charge of the reunion events this year, will the featured speaker at the reunion’s banquet on Saturday night, according to Pam Clark, chair of this year’s Rattler Reunion.
Dr. Ross Landress, president of Tucumcari High’s class of 1959, will speak at the Golden Rattler Luncheon, whose invited guests are graduates from 50 or more years ago, Norma Jean Crellin, who is chairing the Gold Rattler event, said.
Landress and Jackie Earnhart, who will serve as master of ceremonies at the luncheon, will be the marshals for the Parade of Classes Saturday morning, Crellin said.
At Friday night’s dance at the Convention Center, Will Banister and the Modern Day Ramblers will provide music, according to event flyers. The dance will begin at 8 p.m. following a social and barbecue that will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Convention Center. At the dance following the Rattler Reunion Banquet on Saturday, Rick Haymaker, owner of Tucumcari’s Tapestry of Sound, will provide recorded music for dancers from 8 p.m. to midnight.
The Friday and Saturday evening events are open to the public, Clark said. Single-event ticket prices are $10 for the Friday barbecue and $15 for the Friday dance only. Tickets for the Saturday banquet and dance are $25 each, and for the Saturday dance only, $15.

Reunion guests may purchase all-event passes for $40 at registration. The registration fee does not include the Rattler Reunion annual, which costs $5.
