State police investigating Tucumcari stabbing

State police are investigating a stabbing incident that occurred just after 3:30 p.m. today in Tucumcari near Main and Rock Island streets.

The victim has not been identified but is undergoing treatment at Dan C. Trigg Memorial Hospital as of 5:20 p.m. today, state police Lt. Cleo Baker said.

Police are looking for a person of interest in the case, Baker said.

Baker said Main Street has been blocked to traffic between Jackson and College streets of of 5:30 p.m. today.

Members of a state police investigative unit were en route to the scene as of 5:15 p.m. today.

Earlier, Tucumcari Police, state police and Tenth Judicial District Attorney's investigators were at the scene.
