Flash flood warning for east central Quay County, I-40 in effect til 6:15 p.m.

A flash flood warning is in effect until 6:15 p.m. east central Quay County, especially along I-40 between Bard and Glenrio, the National Weather Service said. The weather service noted very heavy rain from a thunderstorm near Glenrio at about 4:10 p.m. today. The storm was moving very slowly eastward, and may affect travelers on I-40 between Bard and Glenrio, the weather service said. The weather service advises motorists not to drive in areas where water covers the roadway.
