Curb appeal

is a must

As president of the Tucumcari/Quay County Chamber of Commerce, I am writing to let the community know about the importance of curb appeal.

All of our citizens should be willing to make our city trash free and attractive, not just for our benefit but for those traveling through.

Keeping our community attractive and inviting makes travelers consider staying in our motels, eating in our restaurants and seeing our museums, or taking a walk down Route 66.

This is important to our economy.

Our city employees work hard to do their jobs, but they need everyone’s help. So when you’re out and about, please pick up trash or pull some weeds. There is a positive to doing these things (including exercise and fresh air).

If we all take part in this, our city will not only be beautiful, but I bet we will all have a more positive attitude. We can all benefit from an attitude adjustment every now and then.

I look forward to seeing all of our citizens getting some fresh air and exercise, while making our city more attractive.
