Two Quay school board races Feb. 3 to be contested

Two positions in Quay County’s Feb. 3 school board elections will be contested, and one position has no candidates at all, according to documents filed Tuesday, filing day, in the Quay County Clerk’s office.

The Fifth District school board race in Tucumcari will have three participants, including Todd Smith, Evelyn C. Hayes and Judy F. Martinez, the records show.

In Logan, the race for the school board’s Position 2 will include two candidates, Tommy Bruhn and James Lee Valentine.

In House, however, the school board’s Position 5 does not have a candidate, according to the filing documents.

All three of San Jon’s school board seats up for election have one candidate each.
