Tucumcari and Quay County residents will have another chance to enjoy the star performances of the Latin Comedy Jam, which returns for a second tour Saturday night at the Tucumcari Convention Center.

Saturday’s show will feature two new comedians, Javi Luna and Joe Rodriguez, and the return of Roberto Rodriquez and Jerry Garcia.

The first show held Sept. 20 featured the comedy of Rodriguez, Garcia and Dillon Garcia, who took the stage in 25 minute segments that mixed Latino lifestyle punch lines with material designed to get chuckles out of everyone.

“You don’t have to be Latino to enjoy our show,” said Jerry Garcia, comedian. “All of our topics are universal and all people can relate.”

Mike Acquisto-Gotti, the show’s producer, said after the the comedy jam’s successful Tucumcari debut in September, work began immediately on a return trip. Over 300 area residents attended in September.

“Myself and the performers loved the positive vibe we got from the community and the residents so much that we scheduled another show sooner than we normally would,” Acquisto-Gotti said.

Acquisto-Gotti said Tucumcari’s response was exactly what he was driving for in when creating the Las Vegas, Nevada, style show, and prompted him to add a fourth performer to the second show.

“We are excited to be back and put on another great performance for the residents of Tucumcari and Quay County,” Acquisto-Gotti said.

Acquisto-Gotti said he would like to see the first show’s audience return and said he invites those who have never been to such an event to come and have a few laughs.

Tickets are $20 each and are available at: Tucumcari/Quay County Chamber of Commerce, A to Z Cellular, Bob's Pharmacy, Tucumcari Ranch Supply or, online at http://www.TheLCJ.com.

The show starts at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Tucumcari Convention Center.
