Babysitter workshop set

The Quay County Extension Service is hosting a “Become the Best Babysitter Workshop” from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 11.

By attending the workshop, teenagers who want to earn some spending money by babysitting “will have training to place on their resume and will learn how to market themselves,” according to a news release issued by the extension service.

The workshop will learn about how to care for children of various ages , games for children at various ages, food and kitchen safety tips, first-aid skillsand and what to do in case of emergencies. Participants will also receive a babysitting manual prepared by 4-H and Army Child and Youth Services and receive a babysitting tote bag containing some toys.

Registration fee is $10.00 and includes lunch and all supplies. The workshop is open to all youth grades 6th – 9th. The Class is limited to 24 youth. Deadline to register is Monday.
