Local clinic receives state award

The Quay County Family Health Center in Tucumcari was honored for achieving a 100 percent immunization rate by the New Mexico Immunization Coalition.

Debbie Lee, Presbyterian Medical Services medical assistant II at the health center, was presented the NMIC Provider Awards on May 1, in Albuquerque.

Mark Williams, director of the Public Health Division at the New Mexico Department of Health, presented the award to Lee at the event that recognizes health centers and providers who have achieved a minimum of a 90 percent immunization rate.

NMIC is a statewide public/private partnership committed to improving New Mexico's immunization rates. The goal of the NMIC is to achieve on-time age-appropriate immunization of 90 percent of all people living in New Mexico by 2020.

The NMIC is supported by the New Mexico Department of Health and the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center.

Quay County Family Health Center, is Joint Commission accredited and accepts all patients regardless of financial or insurance status. Payment options include Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurance providers.

For those who are uninsured, payment is on a sliding fee scale based on income. Same-day appointments are available.
