Filming in and around Tucumcari will cause temporarily traffic delays

Staff Report

Sections of road on Interstate 40/State Highway 104 and in Tucumcari will be closed to traffic on Monday for the filming of the movie "Comancheria," starring Jeff Bridges, Chris Pine and Ben Foster.

The movie is a modern-day western: A divorced dad and his ex-convict brother resort to a desperate scheme in order to save their family's farm in West Texas.

New Mexico State Police Sgt. Chad Pierce said both state roads and intercity roadways within the city of Tucumcari will be shut down intermittently from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., because of production filming. Pierce said delays should be expected on I-40 (Exits 311 and 321), U.S. Highway 54, State Highway 104.

In Tucumcari, beginning at 7 a.m., access to traffic will be cut off from West Aber Avenue, between South First Street to South Fourth Street, and north to Railroad Avenue.
