Police Blotter/Jail Log— Aug. 26

The following is a sampling of calls received by the central dispatch office for Quay County, based at the Tucumcari Police Department.

Aug. 17

• 1:14 a.m., a man reported a prowler on the 1300 block of East Whitmore Avenue. An officer advised all was OK.

• 11 a.m., John Bagley, 60, was arrested for a warrant at a residence on the 6700 block of Quay Road AR. Bagley was taken to the Quay County Detention Center on the 300 block of South Third Street.

• 2:14 p.m., a woman reported a domestic dispute at a residence on the 1700 block of South Ninth Street.

• 3:49 p.m., a man reported a fraud on a life insurance policy at an office on the 200 block of South Second Street.

• 8:03 p.m., a man reported a theft of a weed eater at a residence on the 1600 block of South Monroe Street.

Aug. 18

• 9:56 a.m., a man reported a stolen gun at a residence on the 700 block of South First Street.

• 11:15 a.m., a woman walked into the Police Department on the 200 block of East Center Street to return property per a court order.

• 12:12 p.m., a woman reported a fight on the 1100 block of South Monroe Street. An officer advised they spoke with a woman and all was OK; it was a verbal argument only.

• 1:15 p.m., a woman reported an unwanted man at a retail store on the 100 block of West Route 66. An officer advised the man was issued to non-traffic citations and told not to return to the property.

• 7:11 p.m., an alarm was reported at a residence on the 1400 block of South First Street. An officer advised all was OK the building was secure.

• 8:35 p.m., a woman reported a dispute on the 1600 block of South Fourth Street. An officer advised that a man and a woman were separated for the night.

• 11:01 p.m., a woman reported a suspicious man on the corner of South Second Street and West Charles Avenue. The woman told officers that a man wearing a striped tank top and shorts with crazy hair was lurking in the bushes. An officer advised they patrolled the area and did not locate the man.

Aug. 19

• 5:53 a.m., Jackson Talavitie was arrested for a warrant on the corner of South Fifth Street and East Laughlin Avenue. Talavitie was taken to QCDC.

• 5:56 a.m., a woman reported someone banging on the front door of a residence on the 400 block of East Elm Avenue. An officer advised they patrolled the area and all was OK.

• 1:55 p.m., a Quay County Sheriff’s Deputy reported a theft at an office on the 1000 block of East High Avenue. The deputy advised power tools had gone missing from a building where two work-release inmates were working.

• 2:09 p.m., Vincent Gonzales, 33, walked into the PD on the 200 block of East Center Street and turned himself in for a warrant. Gonzales was taken to QCDC.

• 2:43 p.m., Albert Garcia, 27, was arrested for two warrants on the 600 block of South Second Street. Garcia was taken to QCDC.

• 3:54 p.m., a woman reported a shoplifter at a retail store on the 2100 block of East Route 66. An officer advised a man was issued a non-traffic citation and told to stay off the property.

• 5:31 p.m., a woman reported a theft from a vehicle at a fuel station on the 1900 block of South Mountain Road. The woman told officers that a man stole a phone from her vehicle.

• 7:39 p.m., a man reported illegal dumping on Quay Road 65. The man told officers that a bag of trash was dumped on the road and it contained mail with the persons name.

• 7:41 p.m., Matthew Howell, 24, was arrested for a warrant on the 1100 block of East Whitmore Avenue. Howell was taken to QCDC.

Aug. 20

• 11:44 a.m., a woman reported an unwanted man at a retail store on the 100 block of West Route 66.

• 12:33 p.m., a woman reported a fraud at a residence on the 1300 block of East Rankin Avenue.

• 7:14 p.m., a man walked into the PD on the 200 block of East Center Street to report a theft.

• 8:33 p.m., an alarm was reported at a retail store on the 500 block of South Lake Street.

• 10:33 p.m., a man reported the theft of a toolbox from a residence on the 1500 block of South Second Street.

Aug. 21

• 7 a.m., a woman reported vandalism of a vehicle on the 1900 block of South Fourth Street.

• 7:41 a.m., a man walked into the Sheriff’s Office on the 300 block of South Third Street and reported harassment.

• 8 a.m., a man reported vandalism of a vehicle on the 2100 block of South Fifth Street.

• 3:09 p.m., man reported a man that was heckling officers at QCDC. An officer advised the man had left prior to their arrival.

• 3:47 p.m., an alarm was reported at the community college on the 900 block of South 10th Street. An officer advised all was OK.

• 6:51 p.m., a man reported threats at a residence on the 400 block of West High Avenue. The man told officer his life was in danger and an investigation needed to be started.

• 9:17 p.m., a woman reported a shoplifter at a retail store on the 100 block of West Route 66. An officer advised a woman was issued a non-traffic citation and told to stay off the property.
